Fairy Tale Pumpkin Carving Patterns and Stencils
I wonder if Cinderella could have wished to become a Fairy Godmother herself? Then she’d have unlimited magic, right? If that were me, the first thing I’d poof into being was a dragon!
The first stories we ever hear are fairy tales. Babysitters fill the time waiting for our parents to get home by filling our minds with the grandest of stories. How many of us dream of riding a magic carpet through starry skies? Ever imagine yourself going to battle against a dragon or, better still, riding one?
And the first time we heard about magic, the story wasn’t about a “witch,” or at least about the kind of witch that has green skin and warts. The first witch we ever learn about is Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother.
I know that Cinderella wanted to go to the ball, but I wouldn’t have left that lady’s side! Who needs a Prince when she could have Bibbity Bobbity Booed herself an entire kingdom?
I wonder if Cinderella could have wished to become a Fairy Godmother herself? Then she’d have unlimited magic, right? If that were me, the first thing I’d poof into being was a dragon! Puff the Magic Dragon, straight from Honalee! Or maybe something more dangerous like the black dragon from Sleeping Beauty!
Oh, what fun we could have making imaginary creatures appear, like unicorns! In every color of the rainbow! And puffy pink cats with wings! And then I could bring all the Halloween creatures to life and throw the wildest Monster Mash Party ever! Why, we could even make it Halloween every day! 365 days of Halloween a year! And have pumpkins that never rotted! Hurray!
Okay, Christmas and Thanksgiving are pretty great. And I still need fireworks and lots of chocolate, so we could keep Independence Day, Easter and Valentine’s Day. So we’ll have 360 days of Halloween, and a day each of the other holidays. How’s that sound?
Until then, we’ll keep telling stories and letting our imaginations run wild…and carving lots and lots of pumpkins!
